Famous Divorce SettlementsDivorce is not limited to a particular type or class. It has spread alarmingly all over. Divorce has not even spared the world of celebrities and public figures.. As a result there have been many famous divorce settlements. Being from the elite class these divorce settlements have attracted a lot of curiosity and interests in the society. Some of the most famous divorce settlements are:Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren – This is the most expensive and famous divorce settlement around the world. Tiger Woods the top ranked golfer married Elin Nordegren on Oct 5, 2004. After a few years of marriage Elin filed for divorce as she couldn’t take more of Tiger’s affairs. Both got separated with the settlement reaching upto $750 million. Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills – Sir Paul McCartney married Heather Mills on June 11, 2002. Their four year old marriage ended in accusations and custody battle for their only child. On March 17, 2008, Heather Mills, ex-model and ex-wife of Ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney was awarded $38.5 million in her divorce settlement. Michael Douglas and Diandra Luker - The couple got married only six weeks after meeting each other. Their marriage lasted for 23 years. His alcohol abuse and womanizing greatly affected their marriage. They split in 1998 and Diandra along with their son got $45 million in divorce settlement. James Cameron and Linda Hamilton – Titanic director James Cameron married Terminator Actress Linda Hamilton. Their marriage lasted for 18 months that produced one child. There were quite a lot differences in their relationship that led to their divorce. In 1999, Linda got her divorce settlement in the form of $50 million that was half of Titanic profit. Madonna and Guy Ritchie – The couple was introduced by their high profile friends. By wasting no more time, they got married and in a year’s time their son Rocco was born. Famous for her transformation, Madonna got herself transformed into a single mother of three. Guy Ritchie couldn’t accept this and they mutually went for a divorce with a $76 million settlement. Harrison Ford and Melissa Mathison – The actor and his wife were known to be one of the most private couples in Hollywood. After 18 years of marriage and with two grown children, Melissa was granted $85 million plus profit from his earnings on the movies he made while they were together. Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall – The singer was seeing a model while he was still married to his then wife Bianca. Mick Jagger then married Hall in a traditional Hindu ceremony, only to be divorced nine years later. Jagger insisted that their wedding ceremony wasn’t valid and Hall claimed that he was having a relation with another woman. Ms Hall was granted the custody of their children and $25 million as a divorce settlement. Kevin Costner and Cindy Silva – The couple met while studying in college. Later on they got married and their marriage lasted for 16 years and produced three children. However, in 1993 there were rumors about Costner’s alleged affair with his co-star. This led to their divorce and Cindy was granted the custody of their kids as well as $80 million as a settlement.
