Getting the best out of your solicitor

A solicitor is the main key in any case, be it family matters or criminal cases, he is the one who can set things right even when they are not so. In a divorce case, a solicitor is a top most priority of both the parties, and both of them, assigns them to fight their case. A lawyer can break or make anything which is kept in his plate.

Getting best out of the lawyer is a tactic, which not many knows, but here you will find many such things to move further without delay of any sort.

  1. Plan things out with your solicitor: It’s you who is going to the court so, it’s better to plan things well in advance even before you file in for separation. Step by step process, with its pros and cons should be discussed, so the way taken is purely barrier free and will yield result as favorable to the party.
  2. Clarifying things with your lawyer: Gives him an extra edge over the issue. Most of the times the other party’s allegations actually bring some awkward things, for which there are chances that the lawyer might not know. If you clarify even the negativities in your case, even though you are the first party to apply divorce, there will be chances that it can be displayed in a better manner.
  3. Give him the priority: A lawyer would appreciate the fact that you owe him a lot, as he is the one representing him in the court. Make sure you ask him almost everything before doing any work related to the case and discuss a lot with him regarding the steps and the procedure.
  4. Respect the law: Always respect the law and the lawyer. If you really want him to defend your case, till the end, make sure you don’t question his deeds, when already done. Visits to the proceedings should not be missed and the court order should not be taken for granted at any cost.
  5. Pay his fees on time: Not all lawyers ask their working fee upfront. They generally have decided their minimum basic fees and sometimes it also depends on the case. If you pay it well on time, it would bring you in good books and rather ease your journey in the court room.

Getting things done with your solicitor can be really easy if you discuss things at an initial level and make sure that you keep him comfortable with all the things you provide, regarding the case. Letting him clear about your ground, will help the client and the solicitor build a positive rapport and thus provide support from the law.
